The Hunting Rifle is a weapon in Until Dawn. It is found by Mike in the guest cabin.

Overview

The hunting rifle is a large bolt action rifle, used primarily for hunting.

Appearances

The rifle is first seen in Chapter 3 inside the guest cabin. Mike may pick it up from its case while searching the cabin and can either show it to Jessica or scare her with it. Mike and Jessica's relationship will decrease from both dialogue options. In Chapter 4, Mike takes the rifle before running out of the cabin and uses to assist in the rescue of Jessica, holding it over his back and using the scope to search out her location. He can then use it to shoot an unidentified creature in the mines after the elevator shaft collapses along with Jessica. When Mike finds a mysterious man atop the mineshaft and attempts to shoot him, the rifle is either jammed or out of bullets, after which Mike throws it on the ground and leaves it.
