The Fire Tower, also known as the Watch Tower or Radio Tower, is a location visited by Matt and Emily during the events of Until Dawn.
History[]
While covered in ice and snow during the cold winter season, Blackwood Mountain was nonetheless at risk of forest fires during other times of the year. A careless camper or a natural lightning strike during the drier months could result in a quick-spreading and potentially dangerous blaze. With that in mind, the fire tower was set up to help keep watch over the mountain and surrounding areas. The structure served other functions as well. The Park Ranger Service used it as a small outpost and its high elevation enabled it to be a useful radio transmitter.
Events of Until Dawn[]

After Matt finds a map to the fire tower, Emily suggests that they journey there to call for help to get the party off the mountain. Reaching the tower is easier said than done, and Matt can even die along the trek, but Emily will successfully make it.
The tower itself is affixed with a startling motion-sensor light that keeps most wildlife away. The base and upper watch platform are connected by a rickety ladder. Once they arrive at the top, Emily finds a radio to contact the Park Ranger Service, and potentially a flare gun in the storage box outside the viewing shelter. It's apparent that no one has been in tower for a while, but at one point the ranger in charge of the tower assisted in the search for the missing Washington girls.
Emily tries to contact the rangers, but interference from the storm hinders the radio message from being sent out clearly, and the respondent can't understand her message. Each time this happens, she gets more panicked. Eventually though, Emily is able to explain the situation, and is relieved to learn that help will arrive at dawn.
Afterwards, Wendigo Hannah attempts to gain access to the radio room by banging on the door. When this fails, the Wendigo darts back down and severs the cables securing the tower to the mountain. In the fierce mountain winds, the structure begins to sway, buckle, and then fully topple over an adjacent vein of the abandoned North West Mines. The tower and its occupants fall down into the darkness of the mine shaft.

- Emily is the only protagonist to go to the fire tower, regardless of your decisions.
- If Matt survives the deer encounter at the clifftop, he will accompany her to the fire tower, and will be playable on the destroyed fire tower after its collapse.
