— David to the survivors
|
David Miller is an employee of Blackwood Sanatorium during the events of The Inpatient. He is voiced by Kevin McHale and modelled on Jonathan Burteaux.
Appearance[]
David is a caucasian man with brown eyes, short, black hair, and a somewhat thick build. His uniform consists of a green long sleeve shirt worn under a white Howie-style lab coat with pushed up sleeves and matching white pants.
Personality[]
David is seen very little during the events of The Inpatient. He is very suspicious, but considering the events during the game, that's not unusual. He cares about the welfare of others particularly his fellow coworkers. When the patient reveals that a large part of the staff of Blackwood Sanatorium is dead he's visibly upset and describes them as good people. If the patient comes across the Old Film Reel, David laments that he knew the nurse depicted in the film.
He has a very close friendship and maybe something more with nurse Suzanne Daniels. The two of them are seen comforting each other as the game progresses. He's bitter towards Jefferson Bragg and views him as responsible for the mess surrounding the miners and The Wendigos.
History[]
The patient comes across David while searching through the psychiatric ward. After David is reassured the patient isn't one of the miners, he takes him/her along with him back to Bragg's office in B Wing. Along the way he gives some explanation about what's happened to the sanatorium in the period since the alarm went off, and mentions the miners' transformation into monsters.
Trivia[]
- He shares the same character model as:
- Jonathan Finn, a criminal from Hidden Agenda.
- Charles "Charlie" Anderson, a military soldier from Man of Medan.
- Daniel, one of the five main protagonists from Little Hope.
- Lance Corporal José "Joey" Gomez, a supporting character from House of Ashes.
- The H.H. Holmes stand-in actor from The Devil in Me.
- Makeshift Graveyard (which can be discovered by Mike while exploring Blackwood Sanatorium during the events of Until Dawn) features a cross for a member of Sanatorium staff that has the same surname, but different given names: Charles Miller (born 16/11/1931), who apparently was killed by the Wendigos on February 24, 1952. Whether it's an oversight from the developers, a sort of an Easter Egg, or Charles and David are actually related is unknown.
