*Please note that the following segment only occurs for those who had Matt survive up to this point.
Emily falls off the tower, only to hold onto a ledge for survival. Matt will hear her screams and will attempt to reach for Emily and secure her to safety.
While doing this, the player will be presented with two choices, depending on the earlier choices the player has made. Matt, regardless, will have the option to reassure Emily. The nature of her response depends on whether he sided with her or Jessica during their argument in Chapter 2.
Emily will be slightly sympathetic to Matt, but is still sarcastic, telling him to take all the time he needs and that she's not going anywhere.
If Matt reassures Emily but sided with Jessica, Emily will chastise him for 'questioning everything she says' and will be visibly agitated with him.
But Matt can also confront her about her relationship with Mike (only if Ashley let Matt look through the telescope early on), or scold her for being too bossy (if Ashley did not let Matt look through the telescope).
Matt will call her out for still liking Mike, which Emily denies vehemently. Matt can then choose to persist and ask her what happened, to which Emily will once again reply 'nothing', but eventually confesses to still have feelings for Mike. Matt accuses her of still having a sexual relationship with Mike, to which she says I'm sorry, though this could also be her being desperate for the conversation to end. Matt can also tell her that Mike and her are done, to which Emily complies.
Matt has the option to confront Emily about her bossy behavior. If the player chooses this option, he will ask Emily what her problem is and why she is 'being such a bitch to him'. Emily will apologize, but Matt persists and tells her she has to treat him with respect or he's done. Emily once more agrees.
Matt then has the option to try to save Emily or jump to safety. Emily slips regardless of Matt's first choice. He is then presented with the same set of choices.

If he tries again, the tower fully collapses, sending Emily presumably to her death, while Matt lands unconscious in the mines. He attempts to escape while walking with a limp, but something drags him through the mine. If he has the flare gun given to him by Emily, he can shoot at the creature, which flees upon seeing the light from the flare gun. If he fails to, or does not have the gun, Matt gets impaled through the jaw by a hook and dies.
Matt jumps to safety, and the tower comes crashing down to its feet as he lifts off, seemingly killing Emily in the process.

- If the player fails to shoot the flare gun in time or accurately after trying to save Emily the second time, or simply doesn't have it, Matt will be impaled through the jaw by a hook.
