Bruce Gray (1936-2017) was a Canadian actor. He voiced the role of Jefferson Bragg in The Inpatient. He was known for multiple roles in films and television shows for over five decades.
Career[]
Gray was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Toronto in 1949. He completed his studies at Humberside Collegiate and later earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto. During his time at the university, he was actively involved in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After a small role in the 1966 film Adulterous Affair, Gray began working steadily from 1978 onward, appearing in a variety of Canadian and American film and television productions.
He may be best known to Canadian audiences for his four seasons portrayal of investment banker Adam Cunningham on the Global series Traders (1996–2000). He also gained recognition for his role as the father of the groom in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, his recurring appearance as Judge J.E. Reilly on the soap opera Passions, and his portrayal of Joe's father's ghost on the television series Medium.
Gray was featured in numerous science fiction productions. He played Sky Marshall Dienes in the film Starship Troopers, an interrogator of Captain John Sheridan in Babylon 5, and the Vulcan philosopher Surak on Star Trek: Enterprise. Additionally, he made multiple appearances as Admiral Chekote on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and his work also included roles in various soap operas and serial dramas.
Gray died of brain cancer on December 13, 2017.
